A 43-year-old singer from Culiacán, Sinaloa, has spoken publicly for the first time since the death of his infant son.

Alfredo Ríos, known professionally as El Komander, lost his youngest child, José Eliseo Ríos Ávila, who was only a few months old. The family held a funeral for the baby on October 31. Ríos had a scheduled performance in Nuevo León, Mexico, that same evening but canceled the show due to the loss.

The artist, who is part of the Movimiento Alterado musical movement, shared his thoughts on Instagram shortly after the service. He posted a video showing a clear sky filled with white balloons that were released in memory of his son. In the caption for that clip, he wrote, "Te amamos, mijo, todos. Gracias por todo."

Earlier on October 31, Ríos shared images from the wake at the funeral home. He displayed the flower coronas he received and added the message, "Dios te recoja chaparrito, te amamos mucho." The immediate cause of the baby's death was not disclosed at the time of his statement.

According to reports from Infobae, Ríos is survived by seven other children: Anahí, Kenia, Alfredo, Emiliano, Alejandro, Vicente, and Perla. The outlet noted that the family had kept their children out of the public eye. The arrival of the deceased infant was known only to those in the singer's closest circle before the tragedy.
