Three contestants faced elimination during the opening of the Día de Muertos themed segment on ¿Quién es la Máscara? 2026. The outcome determined that Octavia Ventosa would leave the competition. The public and the panel of investigators voted to save Carmela Tarantela, marking one of the closest decisions recorded this season.
The episode opened with a group performance featuring Caco Mixtle, Octavia Ventosa, Carmela Tarantela, Alex Loro, Patito Feo, and Dr. Kaboom. The six characters performed 'El Esqueleto' by Las Víctimas del Doctor Cerebro on stage. This number initiated the special Halloween-themed block of the show's eighth season.
Carmela Tarantela performed first, offering a clue about her fondness for ghosts and her experience living among the living and the dead. She sang the Celia Cruz version of 'I Will Survive (Yo Viviré)' to the audience. Octavia Ventosa performed second, noting that she feels no fear of the unknown when accompanied by her best friends. Her musical tribute was Oliver Tree’s 'Miss You.' Alex Loro closed the round with a performance of 'Persiana Americana' by Soda Stereo, which he described as a tribute to a close friend.
Following the performances, the investigators attempted to save Alex Loro from elimination. The public vote ultimately chose Carmela Tarantela as the character to rescue. Because the vote was so tight, the panel struggled to predict who would be unmasked next. They listed six potential candidates, including Martha Higareda, Doris Jocelyn, Danna, Regina Murguía, Samadhi Zendejas, and Diana Bovio.
Octavia Ventosa removed the mask to reveal actress Ela Velden. The investigators had not included her name in their list of guesses. She is now out of the competition.
The next episode of the show will air on a Sunday. Viewers can watch the eighth season of ¿Quién es la Máscara? 2026 at 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Univision.
The competition continues with the remaining characters defending their places in subsequent rounds.
