Fresh and Riley ignite first night of One Voyage Cruise

The first night of the One Voyage Cruise wrapped up with high energy performances from hip hop legends.

Doug E. Fresh headlined the evening event, closing the show with a set that ran through his classic catalog. The Human Beat Box played tracks including "The Show" and "La Di Da Di." When he performed "Let Me Clear My Throat," the audience reaction intensified, turning the venue into a large-scale party.

Teddy Riley performed earlier in the evening, setting the tone for the night. Dressed entirely in white, the King of New Jack Swing played a set of his own classics. Major also performed, keeping the energy high throughout the event.

During his set, Fresh took a moment to acknowledge Black excellence in the media industry. He specifically recognized Cathy Hughes, the founder of Urban One. "We’re talking about a black owned, radio conglomerate, give it up for the beautiful, powerful, Cathy Hughes," Fresh told the crowd.

The Harlem-based MC also brought out Rickey Smiley for an interlude. The two performed "Teach Me How To Dougie," with Smiley demonstrating his dance moves on stage. A brief backstage moment was also captured showing Riley and Fresh acknowledging each other with mutual respect.

Riley addressed the attendees directly, urging them to maintain the celebratory mood for the remainder of the week. "Keep partying and don’t stop, live life to the fullest and keep God first," Riley said to the audience.

The event marked the opening night of the One Voyage Cruise, featuring multiple artists and a mix of classic hits and interactive segments.
