Gabourey Sidibe appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show on October 30 dressed as the rapper Drake. She recreated his look from his 40th birthday celebration. The costume included black leather bottoms and a dark top. She added a caramel fringe shawl to mimic a vintage Hermes piece Drake wore. Sidibe also wore a fake beard to complete the impression.

She told Hudson she was inspired by online memes. Artificial intelligence tools had spliced Drake's image onto Sidibe's paparazzi photos. She found the viral videos amusing. She decided to become Drake herself for the holiday. She told Hudson, I am Drake leaving his 40th bday party. She added that she was showing her true self in the costume.

The audience reacted with applause and laughter when she entered the stage. Hudson asked about the inspiration behind the outfit. Sidibe explained that she saw the AI videos and comments online. She joked that she wanted to see if people could do better than her. The two then moved into a segment about last-minute costume ideas.

Sidibe is a mother of two. She is also an actress known for her role in American Horror Story. Drake has not yet responded to her tribute. Social media users have already shared the clip of her appearance. The costume became a topic of discussion among fans of both celebrities.

Janelle Monae also appeared on the October 30 episode. Monae, who calls themselves the HalloQueen, wore full aquatic prosthetics. The character was named Fish Boy. The prosthetics covered Monae's face, arms, and hands. They paired the creature features with a pinstriped suit. Monae plans costumes at least two to three years in advance.

Monae wore the same Fish Boy outfit at Wondaween. That annual Halloween festival took place on October 29 at the Santa Monica Pier. The event featured a Creature Carnival theme. Monae has attended the Hudson show in costume every year. The October 30 episode featured a rolling gallery of celebrity looks.

Sidibe and Monae shared the stage with Hudson. The show focused on Halloween traditions and creative expressions. The broadcast aired on the day before the holiday. Sidibe's costume was a direct response to internet culture. Monae's look showcased advanced prosthetic work. Both guests provided entertainment for the television audience.
