More than 33,000 Americans participated in a national survey designed to identify the top performing brands for each major generational group. The study covered Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z. Researchers collected over 220,000 cross-demographic evaluations during the process. The data reflects customer interactions that occurred within the past three years.
The analysis focused on four primary metrics. Likelihood of recommendation carried the most weight, accounting for 50 percent of the final score. The remaining 50 percent was divided equally among user experience, customer service, and reputation for quality. User experience measured the ease of access, clarity of information, and the intuitiveness of technology. Customer service evaluated response speed and the relevance of support. Reputation for quality assessed consistent performance and transparency in policies.
The survey examined brands and service providers across 112 distinct categories. To be eligible, brands had to be available to U.S. consumers. Categories involving location-dependent services required presence in at least two census regions. The field period for data collection ran from March to May 2026. The average time required to complete the survey was 10 minutes.
Researchers selected the top three to five brands in each category based on the highest scores for each generation. The rankings recognize brands that received the most positive evaluations from customers. The process involved an independent survey of participants who had made purchases, used services, or sought information about specific brands either online or in person.
The final results were determined by a strict methodology. Events occurring after August 31, 2026, were not included in the metrics. The rankings reflect data from the last three calendar years. A mention in the list indicates a positive recognition based on customer evaluations and available data sources at the time of analysis.
The report notes that the quality of brands not included in the rankings is not disputed. The results should be considered alongside other available information about the brands. Customers are advised to visit brand stores or websites for further details. The rankings provide a snapshot of customer preference across different age groups.
