Residents of Lakewood and Cleveland Heights will see their neighborhoods listed in a national candy ranking. Reese’s, a brand of The Hershey Company, selected two local streets from a list of 150 top trick-or-treating locations in the United States. The company released the list on Tuesday.
Webb Road in Lakewood received a haul score of 89.4 and a haunt score of 89.7. The street features century-old homes positioned close together. This arrangement creates a continuous path of porches for children visiting from door to door. Cool air from Lake Erie affects the area during the fall season.
Scarborough Road in Cleveland Heights earned a haul score of 82.3 and a haunt score of 97.5. Reese’s noted that the yardwork on this street contributes to the atmosphere for trick-or-treaters. The community’s decorations provide a specific type of scare that residents and visitors can experience.
Two other Ohio streets made the list. Bryden Road in Columbus and Floral Avenue in Cincinnati were also recognized by the company. The full list of 150 streets is available on the company’s website at hersheyland.com.
The ranking is based on community votes and specific scores assigned by the candy maker. The scores measure the potential for collecting candy and the quality of the spooky atmosphere on each street.
