Rookie running back Jeremiyah Love is expected to miss four to five weeks with a high-ankle sprain, according to ESPN insider Ian Rapoport. The injury will move the player to injured reserve for the remainder of the short-term term.
Love was selected with the No. 3 overall pick in April. He has dealt with ankle issues in both legs all season and missed two games previously. He returned for last week’s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys but left that game with a new injury. Head coach Mike LaFleur stated that this latest injury is unrelated to the problems Love suffered earlier in the season.
The Cardinals will turn to backup running back Tyler Allgeier. Allgeier had a standout performance in the team’s recent overtime victory over Dallas. He rushed for a career-high 147 yards and scored one touchdown in that game.
Quarterback Gardner Minshew led the Cardinals to their fifth straight win against the Cowboys. The team improved to 5-0 at AT&T Stadium, which opened in 2009. The Cardinals currently hold a 3-5 record.
Arizona travels to Seattle next Sunday, Nov. 8, to face the Seahawks. The Seahawks currently have a 4-4 record. The game is scheduled for 2:25 p.m. MST at Lumen Stadium.
