The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5 on Wednesday night to secure the World Series title. This marks the first championship for a franchise that has competed in 58 seasons. The win ended the series with a decisive final score, capping a run that included a record-breaking performance by their rookie lineup.

Jacob Misiorowski pitched 5.2 scoreless innings of two-hit ball for the Brewers. He departed the game early due to a right calf cramp but received a standing ovation from the Brew-Crew fans in the section behind the dugout. His performance anchored the staff as the team managed the lead through the middle innings.

Rookie Cooper Pratt recorded two hits and two RBIs in the victory. He set a Series rookie record by collecting six consecutive hits before hitting a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning. Jackson Chourio also contributed significantly to the offense, setting a five-game Series record with 11 total hits.

The franchise history traces back to 1969 when the team played as the Seattle Pilots. They relocated to Milwaukee the following year. The 1982 World Series remains the only previous appearance for the club. That series ended in defeat after the Brewers blew a 3-1 lead in the sixth inning of Game 7. They lost that game 6-3 to the St. Louis Cardinals.
