Home for the Holidays is open at 13383 Madison Avenue in Lakewood. The pop-up shop marks its 11th season of operation.
Maureen Koopman, the founder of the venture, held a grand opening event on October 17. The shop will remain open to the public until December 23. This annual event moves to a new location every holiday season.
Koopman, an interior designer and entrepreneur, curates the inventory from independent brands. The space features goods from artists, makers, and small-batch food producers in Cleveland and surrounding areas. Visitors can browse candles, home goods, paper products, and accessories for children and pets.
The selection includes items for hosts, teachers, and food lovers. Koopman notes that shoppers can find gifts for people who are difficult to shop for. She encourages visitors to take their time exploring the welcoming space.
Koopman describes the experience as “Feel Good Shopping.” She says the joy of finding a specific gift for a loved one is enhanced by supporting local businesses. Each item reflects the creativity and hard work of a specific maker.
The shop hosts special events on select dates. During these visits, customers can meet the talented makers, taste their creations, and hear about the inspirations behind their work. Koopman attributes the continuation of the event for eleven years to community support.
She thanks residents for sharing information about the shop and making it part of their traditions. Koopman states that no shopping list is required to visit. The door is open to those who have visited every year and those seeing it for the first time.
