The third episode of the eighth season of the masked singing competition Who is the Mask? aired this week, introducing six new characters that have left local viewers guessing. The broadcast featured the final group of participants for the current run, and their clues created significant confusion among the panel of investigators.
The judges, consisting of Anahí, Yuri, Juanpa Zurita, and Mauricio Ochmann, admitted to having few certainties about the identities behind the masks. According to the show's history, participants have refined the art of distracting experts, meaning the clues provided are not always reliable. This dynamic complicates the guessing process for the panel and the audience alike.
The first of the six characters was Roseta Palomares, a figure described as elegant and film-loving. The character appeared tender but displayed strong character when challenged about their stature. Next was Caco Mixtle, a professional thief with a foreign origin who was noted for stealing identities in addition to belongings.
Tiburcio, a shark-themed contestant, made an impression upon entering the stage and has worked on runways. The character mentioned frequent travel but expressed a strong desire to visit family more often. Following Tiburcio was Licua Checo, a michelada-themed performer who claimed to be reformed and away from vice, demonstrating quick mental agility during the performance.
Atrapasueños, a dreamcatcher, was portrayed as wise and tender. The character warned the judges not to be deceived by their physical appearance, noting that even a magical being suffers from nightmares. The final introduction was Ana Conda, a viper with the ability to hypnotize others. The character claimed to have struggled in romantic relationships but remained aggressive when hunting.
The next episode of the eighth season is scheduled to air this Sunday. Viewers in Cuyahoga County can watch the program on Univision starting at 8 p.m. Pacific time, which corresponds to 7 p.m. Central time.
