Bettors on major prediction platforms have assigned a 73% probability to Democratic nominee James Talarico defeating Republican Ken Paxton in Texas, the highest confidence level among the seven key Senate races being tracked.
The odds reflect a widespread expectation that Democrats will win all seven contested seats in the upcoming midterm elections. These markets track specific candidates in competitive states, including Ohio, Michigan, Kansas, Maine, Iowa, and Alaska.
In Ohio, former Senator Sherrod Brown is currently projected to defeat incumbent Republican Senator Jon Husted. Kalshi lists Brown’s chances at 70%, while Polymarket places them at 71%. The race is one of several where Democratic candidates hold a substantial statistical advantage according to wagering data.
Other Democratic nominees also show strong positioning. Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan has a 78% chance of defeating Mike Rogers, and Troy Jackson in Maine has a 72% chance against his Republican opponent. Adam Hamilton in Kansas is projected to win with a 63% probability. In Alaska, Democrat Mary Peltola has a 71% chance of winning a race that features two Republican candidates named Dan Sullivan.
Iowa presents the most competitive outlook for the Republican Party. Trump-endorsed Republican Ashley Hinson is the only GOP candidate in this group whose opponent holds a slight lead in the betting markets. Democrat Josh Turek currently has the advantage on both Kalshi and Polymarket.
President Donald Trump addressed the party’s prospects on Monday while standing near the Reflection Pool. He stated that the sitting president often loses seats in midterm elections but noted that his party made a strong effort. A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll places Trump’s approval rating at 32%.
Bettors have invested significant capital in these markets, with reports indicating approximately $73 million poured into the Texas race alone. The votes for these seven Senate seats will be counted Tuesday.
